Mohan Suresh takes over FISME Presidentship

Mr. Mohan Suresh has been elected President of the largest national body of SMEs in the country- Federation of Indian Micro and Small & Medium Enterprises (FISME). Mr. Mohan Suresh will have the distinction of becoming first ever President from Southern region.
His name was unanimously agreed during the meeting of FISME’s central executive committee held in New Delhi on Thursday. He will take over from 1st April 2008.
Mr. Mohan Suresh is Managing Director of Bangalore based Techno Spark Industries- a dominant player in Industrial granite systems market. Exporting 70% of its production, Techno-spark is among the top 10 companies in the world in industrial granite manufacturing field. It has been consistently getting top export awards.
Highlighting his priorities, Mr. Mohan Suresh stressed need to strengthen SME associations both in their advocacy capabilities and also in delivery of value added services to their member SMEs. It was time, we the SME associations, professionalized our secretariats and moved over to value added functions, he said.
According to Secretary General, the center of activities of FISME are increasingly shifting to Southern region of India and the change of guard reflects the new geo-political shift in Indian SME space. FISME is planning to initiate a number of activities for SMEs through its partner associations in southern India namely KASSIA ( Karnataka), TANSTIA (Tamilnadu), KASIA (Kerala) and FAPSIA ( AP).
