Fifth India SME Forum event held in Hyderabad


The fifth forum in the series of events being organised to select SMEs for the India SME 100 Award and ranking under the India SME Forum & Award banner was organised in Hyderabad on September 6, 2012 at Hotel ITC Kakatiya.

The forums are being organised by Reliance Commercial Finance, a part of Reliance Capital, a Reliance Group company in partnership with FISME and several other organisations such as Sustainable Development Research & Consulting, Go Air, Mahindra & Mahindra, SMERA (SME Rating Agency of India Ltd.), Bloomberg UTV and Laqshya. 

The welcome address was given by Mr Satish Gottipati, Central Executive Committee Member &in-charge AP, FISME and Mr Vinod Kumar, Senior partner, SDRC India.

FISME President Mr V.K. Agarwal is one of the members of India SME Forum Board and jury for the India SME 100 Awards.

The objective of this event is to propel the SME movement by nurturing entrepreneurship and support SMEs across India.

The experts on the panel of speakers for the first session on “Funding for Sustainable Growth” included Mr Parag Patki, CEO, SMERA, Mr Sanjay Athalye, CRO, SME Loans, Reliance Capital, Mr Vishnu Vardhan, Regional Head-South, BSE-SME Exchange, Mr Dara Kalyaniwala, Vice President, Investment Bank, PL  Advisory and Mr Vinod Kumar, Senior Partner, SDRC India.

The panellists for next session on “Reaching Your Customer/Branding – A new Paradigm” included Mr Prahlad Kakkar, Brand & Advertising Guru, Mr Nikhil Nehru, Advertising & Communication Stalwart, Mr Shashi Ravulapathy, CTO, Reliance Capital, Mr Srinath Nalluri, Enterprise Head, AP, Vodafone and Mr Vinod Kumar, Senior Partner, SDRC India.  They spoke on various aspects of branding and how new technologies, especially mobile phone technologies could help SMEs to expand and grow at a very low cost.

The other speakers in the event were Mr APK Reddy, President, Federation of Andhra Pradesh Small Industries Association (FAPSIA), Mr V Hanumantha Rao, President, Federation of Andhra Pradesh Small Medium and Micro Enterprises (FASMME), Ms Ramadevi Kanneganti, President, Association of Lady Entrepreneurs of Andhra Pradesh (ALEAP), Mr V Anil Reddy, President, Andhra Pradesh Plastics Manufacturers Association, Mr N Siva Prasad, President, Electronic Industries Association of Andhra Pradesh, Mr K Narayana Reddy, President, Fibreglass Industries Association of Andhra Pradesh (FIAAP), Mr K Sandhya Reddy, President, Confederation of Women Entrepreneurs (COWE), Mr M K D Prasad, President, Andhra Pradesh Incipient Sick SSI Federation, Mr MM Reddy, Uppal Industries Association, Mr Ravi Rao, Information Technology & Services Industry Association of Andhra Pradesh (ITSAP), Mr P Chandrasekar Reddy, President, Cherlapally Industries Association and Mr T Srinivas, President, Cherlapally Industries Association.

MSME entrepreneurs present at the event got an opportunity to interact one-to-one with the various panellists, network and get their doubts cleared. Most entrepreneurs expressed the view that more such interactive sessions should be organised for knowledge sharing purposes.
