Sixth India SME Forum held in Bangalore


The national campaign of ‘India SME Forum’ reached Bangalore with organization of sixth programme of the series in the city on September 11, 2012 at Hotel ITC Windsor.

The ‘India SME Forum’ is a unique platform that brings India’s top finance, advertising and branding experts face to face with MSMEs. The campaign is also to identify SMEs for the India SME 100 Award.  

With FISME as SME partner, the forums are being organised by Reliance Commercial Finance (Reliance Capital) in association with organisations such as Sustainable Development Research & Consulting, Go Air, Mahindra & Mahindra, SMERA (SME Rating Agency of India Ltd.), Bloomberg UTV and Laqshya. FISME President Mr V.K. Agarwal is one of the members of India SME Forum Board and jury for the India SME 100 Awards.

Mr M C Dinesh, Executive Member of FISME and Mr Vinod Kumar, Senior partner, SDRC India, gave the welcome address. The experts on the panel of speakers for the first session on “Funding for Sustainable Growth” included Mr KV Srinivasan, CEO, Reliance Commercial Finance, Mr Parag Patki, CEO, SMERA, Mr Lakshman Gugulothu, Ex-CEO, BSE-SME Exchange, Mr Sreenivas Vudayagiri, Director & Partner, Peepul capital Advisors, Mr Sandeep Sabharwal, CEO, Portfolio Management Services, Prabhudas Lilladher PL, Mr N Muthuraman, Director, Riverbridge Investment Advisors Pvt. Ltd. and Mr Vinod Kumar, Senior Partner, SDRC India.

The panellists for next session on “Reaching Your Customer/Branding – A new Paradigm” included Mr Nikhil Nehru, Advertising & Communication Stalwart, Mr Shashi Ravulapaty, CTO, Reliance Capital, Mr Ravinder Bhan, ED & Principal Consultant, the Powerful Solutions UAE, Ex Director, Schneider Middle East, Mr Sunder Madakshira, SAP, Mr Nitin Bhandari, Assistant Vice president, New Products, Vodafone and Mr Vinod Kumar, Senior Partner, SDRC India.  They spoke on various aspects of branding and how new technologies, especially mobile phone technologies could help SMEs to expand and grow at a very low cost.

MSME entrepreneurs present at the event got an opportunity to interact one-to-one with the various panellists, network and get their doubts cleared. Most entrepreneurs expressed the view that more such interactive sessions should be organised for knowledge sharing purposes
