Eighth India SME forum organised in Surat


The eighth edition of India SME Forum was organised on October 6, 2012, in the Taj Gateway, Surat.

Recognizing Finance and Marketing as two critical pain points, the SME Forum series is being organized nationally by Reliance Capital Finance, FISME and SDRC to bring together experts from Branding & Advertising and Finance face to face with MSMEs.

In Surat, Mr Prahlad Kakkar, a leading Indian advertisement film director and founder, Genesis Film Productions   moderated the session on ‘Reaching your customer/branding- A New Paradigm’. The other speakers of the session were Mr Shashi Ravulapaty, Senior Vice President and CTO, Reliance Commercial Finance, Mr Vishal Parmar, General Manager, Enterprise Business Gujarat Vodafone and Mr Vinod Kumar, Senior Partner, SDRC India.

 Mr Jagannadham Thunguntla, Chief Strategist & Head of Research, SMC Global Securities Ltd., gave over view of the Indian economy. He informed the audience and implored the SMEs to create bigger & better growth stories. The other panellists for ‘Funding for Sustainable Growth’ were Mr Venkatesh Kannappan, National Sales Manager, SME & Healthcare, Reliance Commercial Finance, Mr Ravi Tyagi, Head SME Project, National Stock Exchange and Mr Manish Bhatt, Vice President & Head IPO at Primary Markets, Prabhudas Lilladher Private Ltd.

Earlier, Mr Paresh Patel President, Southern Gujarat Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SGCCI) and Mr Mayank Jain, FISME’s Central Executive Committee  Member and Mr Vinod Kumar, Senior Manager, SDRC inaugurated the Forum by lighting of lamp.

The SME Forum ground connect programme is also being used to identify eligible SMEs for the ‘India SME 100 Award’. It is being supported by Sustainable Development Research & Consulting, Go Air, Mahindra & Mahindra, Bloomberg UTV and Emerge.
