National Conference on Strengthening Legal and Regulatory Architecture for Growth of MSMEs

FISME and Friends of MSMEs in Parliament jointly organised the National Conference on “Strengthening the Legal and Regulatory Architecture for Growth of MSMEs” on 6 January 2026 in New Delhi.

The conference was inaugurated by Ms. Shobha Karandlaje, Hon’ble Minister of State, Ministry of MSME, Government of India, as Chief Guest. In her keynote address, she emphasised the need for skilling, technology upgradation, and making the banking system more MSME-friendly, highlighting ongoing discussions with the Ministry of Finance. The plenary session featured eminent speakers including Mr. S.K. Jain, President, FISME; Prof. Nagesh Kumar, Director, ISID; Mr. S.C.L. Das, Secretary, Ministry of MSME, Government of India; and Shri Rajendra Agrawal, Convenor, Friends of MSMEs in Parliament.

Three thematic sessions deliberated on MSME laws and regulations, Delivery of justice, and MSME finance, chaired by Shri Sujeet Kumar, MP; and Mr. Neeraj Kedia, Chairman, Banking & Finance Committee, FISME. Speakers included Ms. Isha Aggarwal, Legal Consultant, Ministry of MSME; Mr. Akash Pawar, DGM, SIDBI; Dr. Sangeeta Khorana, Associate Dean (International), Aston University, UK; Adv. Shantam Sharma, SS Rana & Co.; Adv. Sumant Batra; Adv. Abhishek Gupta; Adv. Sanjeev Ahuja; Ms. Chitrakshi Jain, TrustBridge Rule of Law Foundation; Ms. Kritika Sethi, We-Vaad; and Mr. Nihit Nagpal, SS Rana & Co., offering diverse policy, legal, financial, and global perspectives.
