Member’s Grievance redressal
– FISME is represented at most decision making bodies in major economic Ministries. It is a member of quasi-judicial Advisory Committee (under MSMED Act 2006); Board of Trade (Ministry of Commerce & Industries); National Trade Facilitation Council among others. It is regularly consulted by PMO, Finance Minister (for pre-budget consultation); Parliamentary Standing Committees (Commerce, Industry, labour, Finance etc.).
– Takes up problems faced by Members for resolution related to exports/ imports, banking & finance, GST/ customs etc.
Export & Documentation:
– Issues CoO to members instantly and at concessional rate
– Authentication of export documents/ invoices for legalization from Ministry of External Affairs & Embassies
– Recommendation letters for visas
Trade delegations
– Arranges B2B meetings of visiting foreign delegations with members
– Mounts delegations abroad every year
– Indirect participation in bilateral trade meetings in which members’ market access issues (import restrictions in foreign countries etc) are taken up with respective countries
Public procurement / Govt supplies
– FISME is widely credited for securing 20% quota in central purchases for MSEs) now enhanced to 25%)
– It takes up problems faced by MSMEs while supplying to Govt.
Advocacy
– FISME believe in research based advocacy.
– FISME works closely with DPIIT for improving ‘Ease of Doing Business’ in India. A number of reforms have been carried out due to FISME’s representations.
– It also takes up such issues that have economy wide impact such Insolvency and Bankruptcy and Arbitration and Mediation.

– FISME Members remain updated of not only of the contemporary regulations and economic trends but also of those likely to come un in future.
– With Knowledge and News Network – a MSME dedicated news agency (floated by FISME and GIZ, Germany) ensures that views and grievances of members reach to decision makers. Through KNN members remain informed of all economic and regulatory developments.
Leadership
– FISME is run by Central Executive Committee (which also elects the President) comprising of elected industry members.
– There are subject committees (Policy, banking & Finance, International trade etc) in which members are encouraged to participate and share their intelligence for benefit of others.
